Hashtags Come to Google Search Results

Hashtags Come to Google Search Results - The Google+ integration of hashtags is getting a nice updates with Google search. Google+ introduced hashtags on posts back in May, where users can click on the hashtags and get to other related posts on Google+ with the same hashtag.

Google is now gone a step further by allowing those same hashtags to be used when searching in Google. Simply type in “#keyword” for the hashtags you want to search:
Hashtags Come to Google Search Results
The search results aren’t just limited to things of been shared on Google+. It also includes things such as Tumbler, some Twitter (as seen on the #Emmys search screenshot) as well as any kind of blog posts, new stories pages that are also utilizing the same hashtag
As for privacy, you can see any Google+ posts that are either public or the been shared with you personally, so you will need to be signed into your Google account if you want to see results that have been shared with you personally that might not be public.
Here's how Google engineer Zaheed Sabur explained it in a Google+ post:
  • When you search on Google for a hashtag, say [#AmericasCup] or [#WaterfallWednesday], a set of relevant Google+ posts may appear to the right of regular results.
  • You’ll only be able to see posts that have been shared publicly or shared with you.
  • If you click on any of these posts you'll go to Google+, where you'll see the full set of relevant posts.
  • You'll also see links to search for these hashtags on other social sites.
So far, Google is rolling out the hashtag search was users in both the United States and in Canada, with the results. On both Google.com and Google.ca

Drive More Traffic by Using Images

Webmasters and internet marketer knows that traffic is an important element for their websites. They will always scratch their head to think of the solution to drive traffic to their websites. Generally, besides texts and keywords, another important tool which is able to drive traffic to a website is via images. With some modification works, webmasters can actually use images to drive traffic to their website using Google Image Search. The effect might not be so remarkable, however, it does help.

Here's the trick you need to take to drive more traffic via images:

1. Naming of images as your keywords.
Many people tend to name their images using a simpler name such as 01.jpg, 02.jpg, a.jpg, b.jpg, etc.
Naming with this format is easier but it wouldn’t help in driving traffic. This is because the name of the images cannot act as a keyword when users are conducting image searches. Hence it is recommended to use keyword to name your image instead of the aforesaid format. For instance, if you have an image of a Canon S3000SPX, you should name it something like CanonS3000.jpg instead of 001.jpg.

2. Insert hypen ("-") in between.
You can name your images using as many keywords as you prefer. However, it would be better if you can insert a hyphen in between these keywords. For instance, if you want to include printer in the above example, you can name it as printer-CanonS3000.jpg. Besides that, you should also make sure that you include the ALT data of the images. Enter the information of the ALT data and use important and relevant keywords. There is no restriction on the length of the images’ name.

3. Have better indexed with Enhanced Image Search
The last trick of improving your traffic via images is making use of Google Webmaster tools. Logon to Google Webmaster tools. Choose and use the Enhanced Image Search on the left sidebar. By using Google webmaster tool, it helps to ensure the images have better indexes and improve the appearance frequency in the image search engine of Google.
